NOTHING TO DO THIS SUMMER?

REVIEW OF TRUE FANS

in the summer of '97, dan austin, his brother and their friend

had nothing to do, no jobs, no money

- road trip!

the guys had decided to ride their bikes

across country to bring their basketball

and see if they could have it put on display

at the national basketball hall of fame

no, they were not silly young boys, these were grown-ups!

sounded like the trip of a lifetime so they set off on an

epic 100 day journey through the soul of america

through the burning deserts and over the rockies

along the way, they had the heroes, the everyday people that

they ran across and that helped them along, sign the ball

- there's much more to the story and lots of fun too

but you'll have to see the film for yourself

and see the famous signed basketball at the hall, or here

the trip was really about the camaraderie they shared

and the people, what they called, the true fans

that they met along their way

in the Q&A session after the screening, austin explained

that the real deal was seeing the heart and the compassion

of strangers... what a trip.

This film was part of the Earth Matters Screenings
